- Why are the microsites offline?
The microsites are offline to allow for essential maintenance and redevelopment. They will remain unavailable while this work is carried out.
- How long will the microsites be offline?
Updating the microsites is a large undertaking and will take some time to complete. As this is an ongoing project, we cannot currently give an accurate timeline of completion.
- How can I continue my research?
We understand that you may need the microsites for your research. However, you can access many of the records at the National Archives at Bishop Street, Dublin 8. You can find out more about how to plan a visit here.
Why wasn’t there advance notice?
The microsites were taken offline as part of essential maintenance work. You can learn more about alternative ways to access the collections here.
- When will the rebuilt versions be available?
The redevelopment forms part of the next phase of our digital programme. We will share updates as they become available.
- How can I get updates?
Updates will be posted on the National Archives website and social media channels as the redevelopment progresses.
