Introduction
The National Archives, as part of its contribution to this year's Archive Awareness campaign, has as the theme of its annual online exhibition, the minute book of Anna Haslam (1829–1922), a key figure in the 19th and early 20th-century women's movement in Ireland.
The exhibition consists of the following two components:
1) An essay by historian Mary Cullen on Anna Haslam's contribution to the cause of women's rights in Ireland (available in both html and pdf format)
Mary Cullen is one of Ireland’s foremost historians of women. She is the author of Girls Don't Do Honours: Irish Women in Education in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries, 1987, and Editor with Maria Luddy, of Women, Power and Consciousness in Nineteenth-Century Ireland: Eight Biographical Studies, 1995, and Female Activists; Irish Women and Change 1900-1960, 2001.
2) The minute book of the Dublin Women's Suffrage Association (DWSA) / Irish Women's Suffrage and Local Government Association (IWSLGA) spanning the years 1876–1913 (available in pdf format only).
