The Reading Room will be closed on the following days during 2013

1 January: public holiday

18 March: public holiday

29 March: public holiday

1 April: public holiday

6 May: public holiday

3 June: public holiday

5 August: public holiday

28 October: public holiday

4-6 December: media preview

Closure of the National Archives for the media preview – 4–6 December

The Reading Room will be closed to the public on Wednesday 4, Thursday 5 and Friday 6 December 2013 to facilitate the annual media preview of the archives of Government Departments which will be opened to the public in January 2014. Please note that only representatives of newspapers and broadcasting companies will be admitted to the Reading Room on the days of the media preview. The Reading Room will re-open to the public at 10.00 on Monday 9 December.

Christmas 2013 and New Year 2014 closure

The Reading Room will close at 12.30 on Tuesday 24 December 2013 and will re-open at 10.00 on Friday 27 December. It will open at 10.00 on Monday 30 December, will be closed on Wednesday 1 January 2014 and will re-open at 10.00 on Thursday 2 January.
