Archives of Dáil Éireann 1919-1924
The following finding aid database comprises a select listing of records generated by the Dáil Éireann Secretariat in the course of its activities and spans the years 1919–1924. The surviving archives from the establishment of Dáil Éireann in 1919 include four volumes of Cabinet Minutes of the 1st and 2nd Dála covering the period 1919–1922 (DE 1). The DE 2 series** consists of the files of the Secretariat of Dáil Éireann for the same period, many of which relate to the Treaty negotiations in 1921. DE 3 is made up of the files of the Comptroller and Auditor General, principally relating to departmental accounts and expenditure in the period 1919–1924.
Series DE 4 consists of the proceedings of public and private sittings of Dáil Éireann and include some correspondence and printed matter. DE 5 is made up of departmental files and financial estimates while DE 6 relates to the accounts of the Quartermaster General of the Army. DE 7 consists of Dáil Éireann Account Books covering the period 1919–1924 while series DE 8 relates to the Dáil Éireann External Loan.
