The report of 4 March 1916 notes the continued absence of Thomas J Clarke from Dublin. In his absence, his shop is visited throughout the day by James O’Sullivan, Edward Daly, Thomas McCarthy, James Stritch and John R Reynolds.

 

The return of Patrick H Pearse from Belfast and his subsequent visit to the office of the Irish Volunteers, 2 Dawson Street, is noted.

 

Seán MacDiarmada, William O’Leary Curtis and Arthur Griffith are reported at 12 D’Olier Street. MacDiarmada is later seen in the company of John McGarry at O’Connell Bridge.

 

Piaras Béaslaí and Michael Foley are observed together in Talbot Street, while Thomas Byrne is noted to have visited the shop of JJ Walsh at 26 Blessington Street.

 

An evening meeting in the office of the Irish Volunteers, 2 Dawson Street, is attended by Éamon de Valera, John O’Hanrahan, Edward Daly, John E Lyons, Thomas Hunter, Jeremiah Joseph O’Connell, Laurence Raul and Joseph Coleman.
