The report of 17 March 1916 states that Thomas J Clarke briefly called to his shop at 75 Parnell Street. This is his first appearance since his departure to Limerick in the Report of 26 February 1916. He is observed proceeding to 12 D’Olier Street where he meets with Seán T Ó Ceallaigh and Seán MacDiarmada. In his absence, his shop is visited throughout the day by William O’Leary Curtis, Thomas Byrne, William J Ryan and John R Reynolds.

 

Jeremiah [Diarmuid] Lynch and Seán MacDiarmada are observed together briefly at 12 D’Olier Street.

 

A meeting in the office of the Irish Volunteers, 2 Dawson Street, is attended by Michael J O’Rahilly, Jeremiah Joseph O’Connell, Michael O’Hanrahan, Herbert ‘Barney’ Mellows and Éamonn J Duggan. Later that evening, Mellows is observed in the company of Éamon de Valera in the same location.

 

The departures of Seán MacDiarmada by train to Limerick, Seán T Ó Ceallaigh to Waterford and Piaras Béaslaí to Charleville [County Cork] are noted.
