Will of Private Bernard Donaghey, E259305.

Private Donaghey of the 1st Battalion, Inniskilling Fusiliers died in action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916. In his will, Private Donaghey states that he wishes to leave all his property and effects to his wife, Mrs Sarah Donaghey.

The 1911 Census of Ireland records that Bernard Donaghey was a labourer from 1 Fulton Place, Londonderry, he was married to Sarah Donaghey and they had five children.

According to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, Private Donaghey is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial at the Somme, France.
