Cavan famine letter

Letter dated 17 February 1847 from Richard Lewis to an unnamed recipient (“Most Noble Lord”), requesting that he open a relief store in the locality of Cootehill, county Cavan, as it would “remove a great calamity”. He also request a small allowance of meal to “keep off meagre famine”.
