Letter dated 25 April 1915 from Private James Purvis, 12500 B Company 6^th Service Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers, to his mother Rachel. Written from Portobello Barracks in Dublin, the soldier describes the preparations being made prior to their departure for the war.
