(Above) Tender letter dated 23 September 1940 submitted by JE Mills Caterers of Merrion Row, Dublin, to cater for a presidential reception to be held in the Áras on 28 September 1940. Mills were ultimately unsuccessful in their tender which was awarded instead to Mrs Lawlor & Sons Caterers of Naas, county Kildare.
