(Above) From the archives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the official itinerary of President John F Kennedy’s visit to Ireland, 26-29 June 1963. Some of his engagements included a visit to his ancestral home in Wexford, visits to Cork, Galway and Limerick and an address to the joint houses of the Oireachtas. President Kennedy also attended a garden party hosted by President de Valera in Áras an Uachtaráin, a State dinner in Iveagh House and hosted a lunch in the American Embassy in the Phoenix Park.
