(Above) Department of Defence memorandum dated 21 December 1943 relating to the dropping from a German plane of Irish parachutist, John Kenny, in the vicinity of Kilkee, county Clare on 19 December 1943. Kenny, similar to fellow parachutist, John F O’Reilly dropped 3 days previously, was, according to the report, landed to collate and transmit information to Germany, “the precise nature of which has not yet been disclosed”.
